Today, we feel even more that we are an international magazine published in South Africa and that as such, we will continue to showcase cutting-edge interior design / decoration and architecture – via our chosen sector of up-market lifestyle – that is globally current.
 
On-line activity increases by the month, the figures are literally staggering. We feel therefore,  that this new website and its links represents  a new, carefully-crafted window to the world and that the happenings within our industry on this southern tip of Africa should be of interest to persons who live and work thousands of kilometres distant from our home base, literally  continents away in fact.
 
With the World a global melting pot, we intend to treat it as such and illustrate trends and cultures that fall into our chosen field of operation. The international elements of design and style are no longer compartmentalised within cultural delineations, they are in fact the property of us all and I feel that if we can help spread this philosophy, we are on the right track.
 
So, Habitat will continue to showcase a certain echelon of South African design because it deserves space within our pages and that, considering the numbers in this country, it is happily able to compete with international standards. Ours is a young and  fascinating country, within a fast-changing global environment, and as the financial and commercial hub of Africa, South Africa will remain and trend-setter.
