Johnnie Walker® Blue Label™, the pinnacle of Scotch Whisky blending from the House of Johnnie Walker, is celebrating epic achievements of past and present as it launches a new look for its iconic luxury bottle which will be available in South Africa in October.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a commemoration of Alexander Walker’s remarkable Old Highland Whisky of 1867 and demonstrates the same rare commitment to flavour and craftsmanship. It is an extraordinary Scotch whisky crafted for those with discerning taste.
Dom Malan, Premium Whisky Marketing Manager at brandhouse said: “Alexander Walker’s creation, Old Highland Whisky, quickly became a dominant force in the global Scotch Whisky market. It was a remarkable 19th century achievement.”
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a luxury whisky for those celebrating their own achievements today - those who have created something extraordinary, those who have accomplished something special and changed the world around them.
“Our new bottle and packaging celebrates the original 19th century bottle with its iconic square shape, blue glass and thick glass base,” says Malan. “The new bottle has been introduced to ensure that Johnnie Walker Blue Label stands proudly as the luxury blend to celebrate these moments.”
This peerless blend is an epic achievement of the modern whisky era – a perfect combination of heritage and modernity, showcased in a striking, contemporary bottle that makes it an ideal choice for today’s luxury consumer.
The rare casks used in blending Johnnie Walker Blue Label are truly special, with only 1 in 10,000 casks containing whisky of sufficient character to deliver its remarkably smooth signature taste.
The rare craft that lies behind Johnnie Walker Blue Label sees today’s Master Blender, Jim Beveridge, hand-picking and skilfully blending rare whiskies, with elusive flavours, drawn from the four corners of Scotland to produce a true masterpiece.
Jim, part of an unbroken blending heritage stretching back over 190 years, nurtures supremely rare casks, from unparalleled reserves, for as long as they take to mature to perfection, and then blends them in small batches to create this most intense and complex of whiskies.
To celebrate its launch and to commemorate the beginnings of Johnnie Walker Blue Label the first 1,867 numbered bottles will be personally delivered to individuals around the world who have made extraordinary accomplishments – those who have created something extraordinary which has made a positive impact and left a lasting impression.
