Current local architecture encourages outdoor living and those proven trends of Cocooning and Clanning have expanded the need for recreational time spent within the residential environment. This translates into multi-purpose utilisation of entertainment space; ‘crossover’ being the current buzz-word. It applies to motor vehicles, living spaces and furnishings, with integration and multi-function being key.
Reception areas, green rooms, terraces, patios, courtyards and pool decks are – in design and décor terms – very much a part of the overall residential decorating signature.
So, in an ongoing recessive 2010, homeowners are spending more time within their personal habitats; the security situation in our major centres reinforcing that direction. This means that indoor / outdoor decoration can represent a considerable portion of upper-echelon household outlay for the coming season. Living outside for eight to nine months of the year necessitates furnishings that are comfortable, easy to maintain and attractive. They should be aesthetically appealing and part of the multi-purpose design experience.
