Lexus was born as the luxury arm of Toyota and has exhibited creativity in its design statement. Habitat experienced the new RX 350L recently in the Western Cape and we reckon that this 7-seat SUV fulfils the Lexus philosophy impeccably.

The RX 350L provides space, flexibility and convenience and looks the part with the Lexus signature spindle grille, a focal point, set off by an elegant chrome-plated surround. Available exterior colours are: White Quartz, Platinum Silver, Sonic Titanium, Graphite Black, Morello Red, Amber, Opulent Blue and Sleek Ecru (pearl beige). This RX redesign provides excellent head and leg room for the third-row passengers, accommodating two passengers as well as a child seat and offers more ample cargo space behind the third row than all competitor vehicles. Also at the touch of a button, the third-row seats fold completely flat, liberating 432 litres of cargo space. For easy third-row access, one-touch levers on both sides of the vehicle are used to fold and slide the second-row seats forward.

The RX 350L has all the safety provisions that typify Lexus vehicles and curtain-shield airbags have been extended to protect third-row passengers. All models have ten airbags. The SUV is powered by the V6 2GR-FKS engine, delivering a maximum 216kW of power at 6300rpm and 358Nm of torque from 4600-4700rpm. It has an eight-speed sequential shift intelligent automatic transmission, optimum fuel economy and driveability under all conditions. It’s silent on the tarmac, accelerates briskly, brakes rapidly and delivers elegant handling.
