Milan Design Week takes over this Italian city in April each year. Salone del Mobile opened its doors on 4 April 2017 and the whole design world seemed to be there. In fact, it is the sector’s largest international trade fair with more than 2,000 exhibitors (a third of whom are from abroad) and 300,000 visitors from 165 countries.

As every year, Roche Bobois was proud to be present, meeting with the world of design and furniture and all its partners. The stand represented an intimate and colourful atmosphere with Asian inspiration, where the materials and rhythms of the walls play off the deep and warm colourways of the models. On Show is a collection created by both renowned designers and the emerging talents Roche Bobois loves to trust.

Politics, the environment and modular furniture stood out amongst trends this year. Evolving from last year’s Compact Living trend, modular furniture was back with a vengeance! With furniture pieces designed to be long lasting and flexible, it also taps into the sustainability discussion.

The OCTET sofa by Roberto Tapinassi & Maurizio Manzoni is a great example of modularity and was in fact presented at the fair this year.

In celebration of the Environment Trend unveiled at Milan Design Week, Roche Bobois will reveal their eco-friendly products in the near future. As always, their factories and processes remain sustainable.
