Rondebosch Oval is a desirable secure lifestyle estate with 41 upmarket homes situated in the leafy family-focused suburb of Rondebosch. The estate is nestled between table mountain and the southern suburbs of Claremont, Newlands and Rosebank, in an area known for its wealth of schools, world-class sporting venues and open green spaces. Rondebosch Oval has been designed taking into account sustainable principles with the aim of reducing energy consumption. Architecturally it has a contemporary take on the traditional terraced townhouse with large windows, timber cladding, generous balconies, pergola-covered patios and courtyard gardens.

The estate grounds are home to the Rondebosch Cricket Club oval and bowling green and positioned to overlook these green spaces while also enjoying spectacular views of Table Mountain. The estate is only 500m from Rondebosch Common, an easy 2.5km loop running track and open field, perfect for dog walkers and joggers. It is also home to the very popular Parkrun which takes place every Saturday morning.

If you wish to keep it local, Rondebosch Oval has the Rondebosch Sports Club on its premises and it is set to become one of the most desirable sports clubs in the area. The clubhouse includes a lounge area, bar, meeting room and terrace with mountain views. Facilities include a pool, gym, jungle gym, bowling green and sports field of which all residents have access to as members.

In addition, they also have the Daily Grind restaurant and café, which is open every day and offers guests great breakfast, lunch and coffee options. They also make delicious home-cooked meals which can be delivered to residents’ doors.

Security is of utmost importance and every step has been taken to ensure every family’s safety from the second you drive through the gates. The estate includes security features such as secure perimeter walls with electric security fences surround the whole estate, security and visitor communication and 24-hour uniformed security guards. The Homes are equipped with passive wireless alarm systems with zoned keypads, wireless control panel, backup battery, a siren, infrared beams in the garden, as well as a radio transmitter linked to the security company or armed response.

In addition, visitor access is monitored by security through scanning and screening of visitor’s driving license and car license disc upon arrival.

Phase 1 is complete and almost fully occupied, and the residents are loving it. Owners Ravi and Deepa Jaga really enjoy their home. ‘We were lucky enough to have one of the first choices when we were choosing our home in the estate,’ Deepa says. ‘We chose a corner plot right on the Oval, which luckily afforded us some extra outdoor living space, looking out onto some lovely trees and the mountains – it all suddenly became real.’ ‘ Rawson encouraged us to be as involved in the project as possible,’ Deepa says. ‘We were on site nearly every day, checking that things were going as planned and, occasionally, making the odd change on the fly.’ They have a great view of the Oval, so they’ll have ‘grandstand’ seats when matches start there later this year – through the temporary nets that will be erected to protect the houses (and residents) from errant sixes.

Phase 2 is almost complete and will be completed this year (2019).
