With the warm African sun smiling down on us we look for beaches, swimming pools and picnic spots. The heat at night however, can be decidedly uncomfortable unless there is an air conditioner available. Health-wise, how does the quality of an air conditioner affect us, and our sleep?

As dream investments, it’s important to choose the correct air conditioners. Beyond this, choosing the correct temperature does more than help comfort levels on a stuffy summer’s night. It’s all about body temperature regulation. The magic temperature range for a good sleep is between 15°C and 20°C and while 15°C may feel too cold for some and 20°C too hot for others, once the sweet spot is found it creates perfect dreamtime. Likely it’s 17°C.

Sleep is a human priority. Constantly waking up in the small hours to adjust a duvet, or turning over to try and find a cooler solution is frustrating. After only a few such nights, we begin to suffer the effects of sleep deprivation, which impacts mental abilities. Poor sleep is also linked to weight gain and weakened immune systems. If we don’t snooze, we lose.

So it’s intelligent to go with the flow, but it’s also important to factor in the quality of the chosen air conditioner. An air conditioner that constantly blasts cool air can have negative consequences for
prone bodies.

Samsung’s Wind-Free™ technology is an example of good airflow control. Once you select your ideal temperature, the system disperses fresh air uniformly without the unpleasant blast of cold wind. It uses 21,000 micro-holes to gently spread air evenly throughout the room, maintaining a comfortable level of coolness without any draft. This also negates the stuffiness often felt in artificially regulated temperatures.

Sleep quality is a key factor in looking and feeling healthier.  And if an air conditioner such as Samsung
Wind-Free™ can help in getting a good night’s rest, then it truly is a dream investment.
