Add the Midas touch to your festive season with TOKARA’s opulent Reserve Collection Noble Late Harvest – a Platter’s 5-star dessert wine beautifully presented in a shimmering gift pack befitting this awe-inspiring golden nectar. This 5-star laureate shares top honours as the country’s best Noble Late Harvest in the definitive 2020 Platter’s South African Wine Guide.

Made from 100% botrytised Sauvignon blanc grapes from TOKARA’s Highlands farm in Elgin, the just-released 2017 vintage stems from the same vineyards that have produced no less than four Top 10 TOKARA Sauvignon Blancs in recent years. The sought after botrytised bunches are left to hang on the vines long after the grapes have been picked for the TOKARA Reserve Collection Elgin Sauvignon Blanc.

The story of this remarkable Noble Late Harvest begins with ideal weather conditions, meticulous selection, time on the vine for the grapes to develop the sought after ‘noble rot’ character and rich flavour intensity, and, above all, patience for just the right moment to pick the grapes.

“One of the most beautiful aspects of this wine is its stunningly brilliant golden hue,” says winemaker Stuart Botha, for whom this is the ultimate dessert wine for the festive table.

In perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, this Sauvignon Blanc Noble Late Harvest teems with honey, dried fig, apricot and quince with hints of lemongrass and spicy notes typical of botrytised grapes. It is surprisingly dry on the finish enhanced by a slight grip of tannins imparted during fermentation on the skins and in oak barrels.

TOKARA Reserve Collection Sauvignon Blanc Noble Late Harvest 2017 is available exclusively at the TOKARA cellar and Delicatessan at R350 per bottle including the gleaming gift pack. For online purchases, visit www.tokara.com.
